Mixture of liver of sulphur (1/2 tsp: 6 oz distilled H2O) used to age the patina on the candlesticks. Abating thinner used to remove coating on object. Bronze ager also applied for testing.

Mixture of liver of sulphuric (1 tsp: 3 oz distilled H2O) used to patina the candlesticks due to inconsistent pink/gold color. Bronze ager used to darken the metal, causing a blue/black effect. A second pass of liver of sulphuric used to remove blue tint. A third pass of liver of sulphur used to darken the metal to reach current state.

Wax / Polish

Conservator’s wax used to polish and seal candlesticks. Buffed with cloth. Pictures taken before and after treatment.
